About

Kitsune Burgers is a 100% vegan street food restaurant. The menu is entirely homemade and combines Californian-style burgers with Asian flavors, particularly Korean and Japanese.

Established in the Ilot Sacré in February 2024, the restaurant wanted to respect the history of the location and integrate naturally into the neighborhood, giving the impression of having always been there.

To highlight the team’s craftsmanship and the quality of the dishes while encouraging interaction with the public, the kitchen was designed to be completely open, and the décor is simple, almost purely functional (with the hood’s duct and motor intentionally left visible).

Raw materials were prioritized: wood, brick, stone, and metal. The colors are neutral—black and white—with touches of red, blue, and yellow adding warmth to the whole space.

To showcase artistic talent, a temporary exhibition occupies the dimly lit back of the restaurant. Every quarter, a new artist is invited (screen printing, illustration, painting, or photography).

The interior was designed in collaboration with Woodstock Belgium, which designs and produces furniture and interiors in Brussels exclusively from reclaimed materials. Some of their creations are made from 100% recycled products.

This process reflects a local production approach, responding to a personal need with unique, custom-made pieces. Woodstock Belgium creates with passion an original, vibrant, and unconventional universe, inspired by the past, with an “Art Deco” touch, adopting a bold and committed “brutalist” style.

For Kitsune Burgers, Woodstock Belgium designed unique custom counters and a separation railing, inspired by the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic. The materials used include teak planks from a former terrace, solid oak from old pallets, and zinc tiles salvaged from a greenhouse roof in La Hulpe.
In this way, Kitsune Burgers promotes a contemporary and convivial cuisine—technical yet seemingly effortless, open and unpretentious, rooted in the present while proudly embracing its roots and influences.

Here, you can smell the fries, hear the (vegan, of course) bacon sizzling, eat with your hands, chat loudly with your neighbor, all while grooving to funky music.
