As of every year and with an ever-growing curiosity, the Brussels Design September promotes the interaction between roughly a hundred Belgian and international artists and creators with amateurs and connoisseurs in the field of design.

BDS is a fundamentally multifaceted festival that encourages the greater numbers to cross the line and encounter the new facets of today’s design industry by coming in contact with the artists and craftsmen and women in their action (i.e. Arts&Crafts, Jewelry-making, Ceramics, Tapestry Fablabs, Upcycling...etc). Amongst all, the public can choose to see exhibitions, open workshops, happenings, conferences, hands-on workshops, name it...we do it. We will miss no opportunity to encourage exchange and enrichment of knowledge or sensitivity.

The 18th edition of Brussels Design September will highlight exceptional design in limited editions. This iconic event of the design season also explores emerging trends and crucial issues that contemporary design must address, calling for engagement and collaboration. Design September aims to highlight the central role of design in creating the city of tomorrow, where aesthetics and functionality converge to meet contemporary challenges.

Once again, we want to reinforce the image of Brussels as an attractive and dynamic capital: we will highlight the innovation of our young designers through various events related to Design, in order to enhance the commercial attractiveness of the city.

These past few years, Brussels has incontestably become a city of Design, thanks to the talent and the ingeniousness of our designers. Design from Brussels has started to gain quite a reputation and we want to contribute to this in our own way by organising this event. Design September always wanted to connect with the city and represent its various exaltations and diversities. The importance and influence of the event are shaped more and more as design in its most various forms takes an increasingly important place in the daily life of Brussels : urban furniture, installations, lights...

Our designers’ innovations find their place in the urban landscape. This has contributed in a positive way to the city’s reputation and to its economic and tourist activity. The city of Brussels needs events that put creativity and innovation at the forefront. Design September, alongside the Brussels-Capital Region, the City of Brussels and many institutional and private partners, is proud to contribute to it.

Exploring the Intersection between Art and Design in Belgium
Belgian designers stand out for their ability to combine form and function, creating unique works where artistic expression takes precedence over mere utility. Their work, marked by bold research into techniques and materials, reflects exceptional diversity. Belgian creations, often surprising and provocative, invite reflection and interaction, embodying the contemporary aesthetics of design.

Renewal: Ecodesign and Ecoconception
Duplex Studio, in collaboration with MAD.brussels, Design September, and Reset, proposes a multifaceted event with a designer exhibition, material library, conferences, and workshops. Urban Transformation: Inclusive and Resilient Design
This capsule explores the innovative solutions that design offers to improve the quality of urban life. The focus will be on inclusive urban design, meeting the needs of all citizens and integrating innovative solutions for urban densification, sustainable mobility, and climate resilience.

Collectives, Craftsmanship, and Social Design
Design is also a tool for social transformation. By combining craftsmanship and creativity, these collaborations offer creations that unite aesthetics, functionality, and authenticity.
