Alphonse Cafe
About
A warm and minimalist living space, combining sustainability and functionality.
Designed by architect Carl-Eric de Sivers, Alphonse Café offers a sensitive and structured universe, rooted in the Fort-Jaco neighborhood while reflecting a contemporary vision of the neighborhood café.
The design strikes a subtle balance between warm tones and clean lines. The walls are coated with St Leo marble powder paint, in enveloping warm shades that diffuse soft light throughout the day.
This muted backdrop interacts with stainless steel accents, used to aesthetically enhance technical elements, adding both precision and visual lightness.
The custom furniture, crafted by Duplex Studio, includes tables, stools, and benches made from recycled wood (Arbony parquet offcuts) and galvanized metal.
This artisanal, locally-made approach reinforces the authenticity of the space while highlighting its commitment to sustainability.
The counter is clad in two-toned mosaics, distinguishing the cash register area from the culinary zone. Its matte finish and natural hue integrate seamlessly into the overall palette.
In the perspective of the entrance, an orange arch marks a striking passage and invites visitors through a more intimate corridor, bathed in indirect light and designed as a cozier extension of the main room.
Alphonse Café thus combines sobriety, warmth, and sustainability, expressed through a restrained and committed architectural language, creating a café where one feels welcome from the moment they step inside.
