Brooch designart: a designer-artist collaboration This project sees jewelry as a means of self-expression rather than a fashionable decoration or a social status symbol. And who better than artists can do that? Just as the different floors of the same building can be transformed by the occupants or their decorators, the silver base created for this jewelry piece represents the structure on which different artists can apply their art. It is an experimental collaboration between the designer, Rima Khatib, and several artists from different fields (sculptors, ceramists, painters, mosaic artists, fashion designers…) in the creation of brooches, each a unique piece of Art Jewelry.
