Potiche club de céramique bruxellois
About
Potiche is a ceramic club located in Brussels, established in January 2023 in a former drugstore that had been unoccupied for 40 years and is filled with stories. From the moment you enter, a welcoming "salve" engraved in the terrazzo floor sets the tone and invites you to explore this unique place. At Potiche, you will find a ceramic studio and a boutique entirely dedicated to the art of ceramics. We offer a variety of classes, including pottery wheel and hand-building, suitable for both beginners and advanced students. In addition to the classes, we provide a space for open practice for those who wish to work independently. Potiche is also available for private events and is a temporary exhibition space for the Belgian art scene.
Behind this project is Joana Carrée. After a 17-year career as an architect, Joana decided to pursue her passion for ceramics. By opening this studio, she has not only created a space to share her love for the craft, but also where she produces her own creations. Potiche is more than just a ceramic studio; it's a community where creativity and learning come together, while honoring the history and unique character of its location.
To mark Brussels Design September, the studio will be opening its doors on Saturday 21.09 from 14:00 to 21:30 and on Sunday 22.09 from 14:00 to 18:30. Come and discover our creative space, explore our latest works and share a coffee with us.
We are delighted to present the new collection by Philippe Wauters, archaeologist, art historian and ceramist. His series of plant pots, inspired by platyceriums, will be unveiled at the vernissage followed by a drink on Saturday 21.09 from 17.00 to 21.00.
