During Brussels Designseptember, the OpenStructures Project Room presents Grond Studio from Zaventem and Studio Hackin’Toys from Paris.

Grond studio works with raw earth materials and produces a series of modular building blocks out of rammed earth, that are sourced and recycled from construction sites in Brussels.

Hackin’Toys explores alternative ways to design, make and distribute electronic music instruments such as midi controllers. Both projects incorporate the OpenStructures design principles in very different domains and scales and nevertheless can be connected and re-combined with designs by others from the shared OpenStructures database. Their modular character allows for change and adaptation over time.

Both projects are on display at the OS_Project Room, Rue du Prevot/Provooststraat 10, 1050 Brussels from 14/09 until 05/11/2023.
