De Ateliers - De Welvaartkapoen
About
"De Ateliers" is Brussels' largest sewing workshop with a recognition social economy. In the costume workshop, new garments are produced, mainly at the request of designers/stylists. In the retouching workshop/shop, anyone can have clothes altered or repaired at a low price. In the shop itself, one can also find all kinds of second-hand items such as decoration, crockery, clothes and homemade accessories.
"De Ateliers", just like all other sub-programmes of the non-profit organisation De Welvaartkapoen (a socially committed welfare organisation mainly active in Molenbeek), aims to give as many target group employees as possible the opportunity to gain training and work experience, so that they can later join the regular employment circuit.
