Held at the dawn of the “Golden Sixties”, Expo 58 was the first international exhibition to take place after the Second World War. A celebration of the return to peace, humanism and modernity. Expo 58 made a striking impact and has become part of the collective memory of the Belgian nation ever since. Everyone has their own recollection of the event, an anecdote, or a family photo.
To commemorate its sixtieth anniversary, the Atomium and the ADAM − Brussels Design Museum – will be celebrating this magical and glamorous event with a programme of three exhibitions collectively entitled Galaxy 58.
An exhibition entitled Graphic 58, held at the ADAM, will explore the forms, colours and textures that defined the innovative graphic world of Expo 58.
