Located in a beautiful house from the beginning of the 20th century, Galerie de la Béraudière offers an important place to design and interior decoration with pieces of famous designers such as Ron Arad, Isamu Noguchi, Hubert le Gall, Garouste and Bonetti, etc. An amazing place to discover in the heart of Brussels.
Throughout the month of September 2019 and until the end of October the gallery puts the spotlight on the American pop artist Keith Haring. Well known to the general public for his personal and subversive graphic style as well as his predilection for unusual media, Haring had a meteoric and prolific career (1958-1990).
But did you know that Haring had a special link with our country? Indeed he stayed three times in Belgium, and more particularly in Knokke and Antwerp, between 1987 and 1990. During these visits he forged close links with collectors and members of the Belgian art scene of the time.
Galerie de la Béraudière has chosen to reconnect Keith Haring with Belgium and to compare his work with that of Belgian pop artists such as Evelyne Axell and Pol Mara in an exhibition that promises to be explosive!
In addition, Olivier Gagnère's pieces will be presented at the KEITH HARING and his Belgian entourage exhibition.
In the early 80's, Olivier Gagnère met the Italian cult designer Ettore Sottsass, and collaborated with the Memphis group in Italy, a key step in his work. He then worked with the glassmakers of Murano and the Masters Craftsmen of the whole world for the realization of his first creations including objects in glass and porcelain. He then collaborated with major French brands as well as with galleries such as Marc Lamouric, Néotu, Kréo and Maeght where his works are exhibited. His creations are now among important national and international collections in the largest museums in the world.
Olivier Gagnère presents an eclectic profile since he works as a glassmaker, ceramist, cabinetmaker, interior designer, decorator and designer.
His graphic and colorful pieces will subtly enter into dialogue with the work of pop artist Keith Haring that we will present at the gallery on September 5, 2019.
